Summary

The protagonist in this film is a relatively young women about to hit her thirties. Her husband is older, in his 40s. He’s much more established in his career and serious about his relationship with her. He wants to go to the next stage of his life; to have a kid with her. She doesn’t want that. She haven’t figured out her life yet. She keeps jumping from one career to another. She ends up kinda cheating on her husband and hides it from him. Her husband even warns her about it before getting serious about the relationship, that she’s much younger than him and that she might want more time to figure herself out. They were breaking their fling. But that’s exactly when she realised that she loves him.

Thoughts

I personally find this film intriguing, owing to what I experiences in my last relationship

It also party reminded me a little about a line from Decision to leave where Song Seo Rae says this:

Song Seo Rae: The moment you said you loved me, your love ended. And the moment your love ended, my love began.

Dialogues

Narrator: The sum of western guilt sat beside him on the couch. Went to bed with him at night. Everything was weighed against the greater cause.

Aksel: I grew up in a time when culture was passed along through objects. They were interesting because... we could live among them. We could pick them up. Hold them in our hands. Compare them. … And I just continued, even when it stopped giving me the powerful emotions I felt in my early 20s. I continued anyway. And now it's all I have left. Knowledge and memories of stupid, futile things nobody cares about.

Aksel: I wasted so much time worrying about what could go wrong. But what did go wrong was never the things I worried about.
